How long does it take for you to respond to my message?
We typically respond to voicemails or emails within 24 hours, excluding weekends. Be sure to leave us your phone number and best times to reach you.
How long does it take to get an initial appointment with you?
Usually we can schedule a first appointment within two weeks from the time you contact us. It may take longer to get an evening appointment than one in the morning or afternoon.
When do you have appointments?
Each therapist keeps his/her own schedule. Among us we have early morning, evening and weekend times available. Your initial contact will be with one of our therapists (we do not have a receptionist or intake worker) who will help match you with a therapist who will best meet your needs, including availability of appointments.
How often do you meet with clients and how long does therapy last?
Most frequently we meet with clients once a week. However, some clients come in twice a week, and others come in every two or three weeks. Similarly, there is great variability in the length of time someone is in therapy, from a couple of sessions to one or more years. We set up a schedule that works for you and considers your goals and the practical factors of time and money.
How much do you charge? Do you take insurance?
Each therapist sets her/his own fee. We do not participate with any insurance panels, but provide a monthly receipt which many clients use to obtain reimbursement from their insurance company for non-network provider services. The amount they receive varies greatly from policy to policy. Your therapist will talk with you about what will work best.
How can I contact you?
You can send us an email using the form on our contact page or call 610-667-4804. We usually respond more quickly to voice messages, but in either case we will respond in 24 hours (excluding weekends). Be sure to let us know how to best reach you and whether it is acceptable for us to leave a message. We will not schedule an appointment without some contact by phone. You can also contact a particular therapist directly by using the contact information on our therapists page.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
If you call our general number, you can discuss your needs with the initial contact person, who will help you choose a therapist from our practice. You can then have an initial phone conversation with that therapist, to discuss how they work and whether they are a good match for you. If you decide to meet with that person, you can set up an appointment to see if it feels like a good fit.
What if I have an emergency and need to talk to someone immediately?
If you are seeing someone in our practice, you should talk to them about how to reach them when there is an urgent matter. If you are not already seeing one of our therapists, we cannot respond to you in a true emergency. In that case, it is best to contact a health professional with whom you have a relationship, or contact your county's mental health emergency services. There is a listing of local services on the website of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, www.mhasp.org/help/crisis.html
Where do you see clients?
We have two offices in Bala Cynwyd: One Bala Ave. and 191 Presidential Blvd. In addition, there are offices in Merion and Bryn Mawr. Be sure to ask your therapist where you will meet.
